When taking pictures some lag time between pictures is minimal. Video works well with it but there was unlucky that there is no zoom in and out during the video. The sound quality is surprisingly good with the video mode as well.

It takes good outdoor video with little wind noise. I rather be careful to buy a camera with no viewfinder as the last camera I had one, but let's face it, I rarely used when I have them. Insisting on the camera with a viewfinder also significantly limited my choices to point and shoot.

I am satisfied with the camera viewfinder does not and this is what I expect in a good point and shoot. I think SD1200IS since sales and slightly cheaper but I think for some additional features, it's worth the extra $ 50.

Great battery! Even under medium to heavy usage it lasts all night and part of the next day. I recommend always having another battery pack as a backup though because you never know when you might need it. I would recommend this camera to anyone looking for quality point and shoot.

Conclusion. The T1i is a bit on the light end, yet the construction still feels solid. For the camera's price point, you'd be hard pressed to find any digital SLR out there which gives you all the capabilities and growth range of the Canon T1i. The camera is intuitive enough for those new to photography to pick and learn easily, yet configurable enough for advanced amateurs. If video is not a big deal for you, then get the Canon XSi. There is very little the T1i has (other than ISO 3200 and a sharper screen) that the XSi doesn't. Plus, with the release of the T1i, you can probably pick up a used XSi for a great price on eBay. My wife recently gave birth, and I'm not looking to record endless (never to be watched) tapes of video footage of our son, but I do want several minute clips of him as he grows through the years. I've always been more inclined towards photography, so this camera gives me a very versatile digital SLR that I need with the wonderful capability of recording HD video that I want.

Canon EOS Rebel T2i 18 MP CMOS APS-C

Canon ® EOS Rebel EOS T2i brings professional features into easy to use, lightweight digital SLR.

Displays the class leading 18.0 megapixel CMOS image sensor and increases light sensitivity for low light photography, T2i EOS Rebel also has a Movie mode for the beautiful HD Full HD movies. Advanced Live View, a new wide-area screen, and features such as Auto Lighting Optimizer and Highlight Tone ensure brilliant pictures and movies, easy.

The best camera like this sold out very quickly, be sure to Ordet now, to prevent running out of stock.

IMAGE QUALITY: I'm afraid that so much to cram megapixel sensor, there will be a lot of 'noise' images (the myth of megapixels). Fortunately this is not a problem, and I've been very pleased with the pictures taken with this camera! Besides the issue of White Balance (see below, Cons), image quality is quite good!

VIDEO: Some people have been disparaging to say that the Video on a DSLR is just a tool. I disagree. Based on the sample clips I've seen on YouTube, I was glad to get HDSLR, and while the video sometimes wobbly if you do not have a very steady hand, tripod eliminates concerns. The audio quality in T1i criticized by many, but T2i have a microphone input jack, which allows you to connect the mic. I do not own one so can not comment on that feature, but will update this review if and when I save enough to try this feature out. In addition, it offers improved recording options, including high fps (frames per second) compared with T1i, which technically offer "true HD" recording of 1080, but only at 20 fps choppy.

LOW-LIGHT PERFORMANCE: I am much more impressed than I expected. Rebel XS I can go to ISO 1600, but will look very bad in there. This not only can go up to ISO level is significantly higher, but doing much better. Less noise means you have to throw a bit of time editing your photos, and guard much more!

SDXC SUPPORT: Only own SDHC cards up to now, but it's great to know that it supports the next generation of flash storage, which means you will in the future could hold many more images than are currently available.

SLR NOT FULL-FRAME: This is not a full-frame SLR like the Canon 5D Mark II, and APS-C size sensor results in crop factor (1.6x), and no need to provide the same picture quality as it is, the larger full-frame sensor no. However, less than half the cost of Mark II, I think this is a trade-off is well worth it for most users.

Plant factors mean that this camera, like other Canon DSLR has a sensor that APS-C size image, will not be true for the appointment of the lens. A 50mm lens will produce pictures better suited to 50mm, 80mm x 1.6 or the full-frame. This not only makes a difference for those who want to do landscape photography (which usually benefit from wide-angle view), but for those with shaky hands. General logic is that in order to ensure steady shots, you need to shoot on the reverse of your focal length. So to 50mm focal length, you have to shoot at speeds faster than 1 / 50 seconds to shoot steady. Keeping in mind the crop factor, you should really shooting at speeds faster than 1 / 80 sec.

Crop factor is used for most digital SLRs, a full-frame sensors boost production costs, which then passed on to consumers in the form of very expensive camera. So it is not so much weakness Rebel T2i, but just a note to keep in the back of your mind.

DIFFERENT BATTERY: This is more than inconvenient for those who have a spare battery than those who first SLR will be T2i, but Canon changed the battery. Once again, no big deal, but probably inconvenient for some who find that their old batteries can not be used in this model.

WHITE BALANCE: I found that White-Balance setting 'Auto' is wildly inaccurate in my Rebel XS (often giving a shot in the yellow room unless I change the WB to the mode 'light bulb'), and I felt that the WB setting on this model still not as accurate as they should. If you want to be completely accurate WB, you can use a gray card, or an alternative would be to just try to edit digital photos on your computer after the shooting.

NO SCREEN articulate: No screen articulate, but this is a rare feature in DSLR in general, so not a weakness of T2i. Because most of the shots you may be prepared using the viewfinder, not a big deal, though it would be convenient! If you really must have a screen on HDSLR articulate, looking into the Nikon D5000

  • Canon's HS SYSTEM with a 12.1 MP CMOS and DIGIC 4 Image Processor improves shooting in low-light situations without the need for a flash and
  • Full 1080p HD Video for exceptional quality and keep footage stabilized with Dynamic IS.
  • Get high-speed shooting in a point-and-shoot camera: High-speed Burst Mode captures 8.2fps and
  • Smart AUTO intelligently selects the proper settings for the camera based on 32 predefined shooting situations.
  • 4x Optical Zoom with a Wide-Angle lens (28-112mm) Optical Image Stabilizer and a 3.0-inch PureColor System LCD.
  • Lowers noise levels at higher ISO settings.
  • Super Slow Motion Movie records video at high speeds to allow slow motion playback.

- Good looking and small

- Nice large 3.0 inch LCD screen

- Very good photo quality! When using this camera, I suggest you keep in auto mode. Its a really good auto mode unlike other auto modes on other digital cameras. You will always get a sharp shot with less grain. The HS system really helps.

- Very good 1080p for a small camera.

- Cool shooting features. Toy camera, Poster effect etc

- On Amazon its states that the camera can "optically zoom while shooting video". Not true. Its digital zoom which was a HUGE disappointment for me. If you like zooming a lot, I wouldn't recommend this camera. If you like zooming in optically during video, check out the Elph 300 and Elph 500 HS.

- NO autofocus during MOVIE mode. This was another HUGE disappointment for me. I do a lot of close up shots during video and I can't do that. I called Canon and asked them if the camera autofocus's and they said yes it does. They told me to reset the camera and I did and still no autofocusing. I honestly think the camera doesn't autofocus at all during video. You can set it to macro mode, but I personally like autofocusing better. If you like autofocusing during video, check out the Elph 300 and Elph 500 HS

I do like this camera a lot. It takes great still images and has some cool features. BUT I REALLY REALLY like zooming in optically and having autofocus during video. So I think I may return it to the store and buy the other Elph 300 HS or some other camera. I don't know :(. If you don't mind not having autofocusing during video and have digital zoom during video then this camera is just for you.

Canon PowerShot SD1400IS 14.1 MP

Best Buy :

Canon commitment to innovation defines the excitement of the PowerShot SD1400 IS Digital ELPH.14.1 megapixel resolution is more than a number its your cutting edge link to the outstanding clarity and quality youve always wanted in your images.

Think bold and big because razor sharp oversized prints are a breeze. Get the picture Its absolutely brilliant.

Shy and modest is so yesterday. Get ready for brilliance that's the center of attention once the PowerShot SD1400 IS Digital ELPH camera is in your hands.

First glance says it all: nothing moves you like the impact of sleek sculpture, especially when it's drenched in the purest, ripest colors. Inside, Canon engineers defy micro-space with big, brilliant innovation.

PROS Canon PowerShot SD1400IS :

-Produces consistently clear pictures
-Extremely compact, lightweight, and sturdy
-Easy to use (functions are intuitively organized)
-Uses standard USB cable instead of a proprietary one (SONY)
-Uses standard memory instead of a proprietary one (SONY)
-No wheels or toggle switches jutting out to get caught on things and mess up the settings (when I wanted to take regular pictures, I always seemed to be shooting movies, or photographing in a strange light setting with my SONY camera)

CONS Canon PowerShot SD1400IS:

-Buttons seem a little less solid than previous CANON models (my CANON IXY from about 8 years ago was designed a lot better)
-Buttons are flush with the body of the camera, so I have to operate it using my fingernails sometimes (again, the buttons on my CANON IXY were much easier to use)
-The door to the digital port for connecting the USB cable doesn't swing out very wide, and I have a feeling that if I am not careful it may not last long (the CANON IXY had a soft rubber cover that was much more flexible)

Canon PowerShot SX210IS 14.1 MP

Price : $329.00 ( best deal Click here )

Best Deal : save up to $100.00

Get closer than you've ever been before to your subject with the Canon® 14.1 megapixel PowerShot® SX210 IS digital camera.

It combines a 14x optical zoom with the clarity of 14.1 megapixels for extremely clear, crisp shots.

Operation: Canon PowerShot SX210IS not the fastest camera around and the zoom is a little slow, although smooth. I've found it to be just fine for everyday shooting and the smooth zooming works great on videos (with other cams I'd often overshoot). As I said, the interface is in line with most Canon's point and shoots.

Image quality: Canon rarely disappoints in this aspect. The images Canon PowerShot SX210IS perfectly sharp (unlike the Sony TX1) and the colors are vivid yet accurate (unlike some Panasonic and Sony cameras). At lowest ISOs and regular conditions, the quality rivals some DLSRs. As in many point and shoots, noise becomes visible starting at ISO 400, but that's the price you pay for a 14x optical zoom. Low light pictures are not as good as the lead cameras' such as the S90, but they're not any worse than most point and shoots and are just fine for printing.

Lens: The lens is in line with most point and shoots today (f/3.1 to f/5.9). The zoom is very smooth (and you can control the speed), although a little slow. 14x is amazing and image stabilization works great. No noticeable distortion.

Flash: Nothing special, average for point and shoots. Good exposure. In auto mode, the camera does a great job trying to balance the background and foreground when using flash. Careful though, it might crank the ISO up to keep detail in the background when you shoot in low light.

Video: HD and normal video is great. The same awesome image quality as in picture mode. Videos look crisp and colors are great. The auto focus performs perfectly, works very quickly, and is very accurate even for moving subjects.
Many cameras won't allow you to zoom while taking videos, but this isn't a problem with the SX210. Since the camera is so small, camera shake is inevitable, so I would avoid zooming in too much if you're not using a tripod or a monopod. Audio is fine. Stereo audio sounds great on paper, but I don't hear much difference. Note that HD video eats memory cards in no time, so if you're just taping for web or the like, just change it to normal quality.
The dedicated video button is very useful to have! Can't tell you how many times I forgot to get into or out of video mode with other cameras. It still has a video mode, it just makes it faster and easier to shoot video on the go.

Features: This camera is pretty impressive in terms of features, both the serious ones such as manual modes and the more gimmicky features you see in lots of newer point and shoots cameras today. Here is a summary.
-Auto and Easy modes: intelligent scene recognition works great most of the time. Even I use Auto often instead of manual modes as it is very reliable.
-Manual, Aperture Priority, Shutter Priority, Program modes: godsend for point and shoots. You might not think you need them now, but if you start learning about photography more, you'll be glad you have them!
-Scene modes: All the general ones like sports and portrait, as well as cool unique ones such as:
-Smart shutter: camera automatically takes the picture when either a smile is detected, a new face is detected, or 2 seconds after a wink is detected. All of these are customizable and work just as described! Very useful for self portraits and such. As a backup, the camera fires after about 15 seconds even if it didn't detect anything, so no missed shots because it didn't recognize a face.
-Low light: Lowers resolution to improve quality. Sets ISO is pretty high. Nothing amazing, but good results.
-Color Accent and Swap: Canon's favorite - isolate a color (with the rest in black and white), or swap two colors)
-Fisheye effect: Look at sample fish eye images online. Just a fun effect. You can control amount of distortion.
-Miniature effect: Nothing like a true tilt-shift, but gets decent results. Blurs parts of image to make an illusion of a miniature. Customizable.
-Stitch assist: helps taking panoramas
-My Colors: tinker with colors - can add/subtract saturation or accent reds/greens/blues, can lighten/darken skin tones, etc. Great settings I use a lot.
-White Balance: learn to use custom white balance - it's quite painless and yields amazing accuracy in white balance. Use an opaque white object or a white wall to fill the frame, just press a button, and the white balance is set perfectly.
-Exposure Compensation for flash and for general exposure

Battery: I loved how the SX120 uses AAs (long lasting and easily available), so I was a little skeptical about the SX210. But I wasn't disappointed - the battery started getting low only after a week of moderate usage including many videos. Replacement batteries are very cheap ($5 off-brand).

Price : $429.99 (Get discount Click here)

Best Deal On :, Walmart, Ebay,

The camera uses a VCM (Voice Coil Motor) for high-speed, quiet, energy-efficient lens movement with precise control. Focal length is conveniently indicated on the lens barrel. Technical Details
  • 35x wide-angle optical zoom (24-840mm) with Optical Image Stabilizer
  • Improvements to Movie modes: use the Optical Image Stabilizer in the wide-angle setting;Optical Zoom is now available while shooting video

  • New Zoom Framing Assist button; DIGIC 4 Image Processor and 14.1 megapixels
  • Capture images and video to SD/SDHC/SDXC memory card, MultiMediaCard, MMC Plus Card, HC MMC Plus Card (not included)

The Canon SX30 IS is the clear winner and appears to be the best super-zoom compact available at the moment.

The optics may not be as good as a lens with a shorter focal range and there is some noise apparent even at low ISO values. Unfortunately camera makers insist on cramming more mega-pixels onto these tiny sensors which means more noise.

For these reasons and for the disappointing implementation of macro, Canon gets deducted one star.

Canon S95 Review

New Canon S95 is one of the first compact cameras to be equipped with Canon's highly advanced Hybrid IS function, which corrects camera shake from two sources to deliver sharp, blur-free images even when you zoom in close to your subject.

Hybrid IS employs both an angular sensor and an accelerometer, enabling it to suppress both the blur caused by the angle of the camera and the "shift blur" that happens when your subject moves parallel to the camera, a problem that is especially noticeable at large zoom factors.

New Canon S95 sports an f/2.0 aperture, perfect for creating enticing portraits, by drawing attention to the face and blurring the background with its impressively shallow depth-of-field. The Macro setting lets you get even closer. The large aperture also does more.

It lets you capture more nuances in low light shooting by using more of the available light. You'll be ready for anything with a lens aperture larger than even many professional sizes.
S95 Canon with the ability to produce clear, steady images in most situations and at any zoom length, New Canon S95 is the camera you'll want to take everywhere. If you wan to know more detail this camera, you can read Canon S95 Review

Picture Quality Of Nikon D7000

Like all modern DSLRs it takes great pictures. I don't pixel peep so I can't really say that I notice a difference between the pictures from the Nikon D7000 and any of my 12mp cameras. It makes really nice pictures and that is all I care about.

Useful Photography Features

--100% view finder! Big bright with 100% coverage. No more guessing of your framing. (It is not as bright as the D700. However, it is 100% vice 95%)
--2 SD slots - When your getting paid to shoot a wedding or any gig, my card broke is not an excuse. Very useful feature. For the home user put two smaller cards rather than one big card and save some money.
--Smaller and lighter than D300, D700, D3s, D3x- When you stand on your feet for 9 hours shooting the wedding and reception, you start to feel every ounce you are carrying. Often you will be carrying two bodies with a fast tele zoom and fast wide zoom. That starts to get heavy. Light weight here we come.
--2016-Segment RGB Meter- for spot on exposure and white balance--No one touches Nikon on this and this one is fantastic.
--1/8000th -- Very useful for shooting into the sun wide open with a bright lens
--1/250 -- Could be better (1/500th for D40) but could be much worse. Auto FP helps.
--Magnesium body and better sealing -- Shoot in dusty environments without messing up the inside your camera.
--Uses the ML-L3 infra red remote -- Small and cheap. IR sensor on the front and back of the camera.
--Autofocus focus motor for non-AF-S lenses.

In the end it all comes down to what is important to you. Smaller weight and size is becoming much more important to me and this camera is a very good trade off of features for size and weight. Anything that is missing I don't even use so I am not sure what it may be. My D700 was recently stolen and while I miss it, the D7000 is a worthy replacement for it. I opted to get the D7000 and Panasonic GH2 and save the $300 difference for a lens.

--100% view finder!
--6 fps (7D is 8. However, I think this number is overhyped in most cases. Even shooting at 3 FPS will fill up you card with photos that look remarkably similar) 8+ is needed for professionals shooting professional sports. Not enthusiast shooting High School etc.
--16mp sensor (a marketing increase but still nice to allow some room for cropping)
--14 bit photos
--39 point auto focus sensors (19 cross point) this is a bit of a marketing thing but it is still nice and it does not matter about the 51 on D300s and above. Still very nice.
--2016 scene meter - compares against data base for WB setting and color settings
--Excellent battery life
--MD-11 Optional Battery Grip
--2 SD card slots for back up redundancy or double the card space! Outstanding
--Magnesium used to make camera stronger

--16mp senor (takes up more storage on your hard drive) (12mp JPG 3mb 12 mp RAW = 12 mb 16mp JPEG = 5 mb 16 mp RAW = 16 mb. This is for 12 bit. 14 bit would require more)
--Camera heavier than it used to be
--No swivel screen - after using the GH1 extensively you really miss this when shooting at weird angles. You especially miss it for macro photography.
--No full time live view - Ditto from above. Live view is what you see is what you get. Forgot to change white balance-- you will see that when people are yellow, blue or green. Have it set in manual and blowing everything out-- you'll see that as a white screen.
